your right to protest, demonstrate and to hold rallies
The right to peaceful assembly is a fundamental civil right. It is recognised in many international human rights treaties and in Australian lawThe right to protest about political issues is protected by the Constitution.
Freedom of Information
The purpose of freedom of information ('FoI") legislation is to allow citizens to access information in possession of governments. It's all about open government. You can use FoI to access documents about government or documents about yourself.
Should Prisoners have rights???
I'd say most certainly yes, because prisoners are human beings. In most cases, they are also citizens of this country, "subjects of the Queen" and "electors" under the Constitution. They should, so far as the law can allow, ordinarily have the same rights as all other persons before this Court. They have lost their liberty whilst they are in prison. However, so far as I am concerned, they have not lost their human dignity or their right to equality before the law.
Freedom of Speech:
If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.
HUMAN RIGHTS ARE IMPORTANT!!!!
